CUSTODIAN - JOHN WILL ELEMENTARY

Description:

The duties include but are not limited to:

  • Sweeping, mopping, buff floors.
  • Vacuuming and cleans rugs and carpet.
  • Empties trash baskets and garbage cans.
  • Replenishes paper supplies and hand soap in restrooms and classrooms.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting restroom.
  • Clean walls and windows.
  • Cleans and polishes brass and other metal work.
  • Set up rooms for meetings, conferences, and other events.
  • Pick up Paper.
  • Performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment.
  • Report repairs of broken custodial equipment.
  • Enter work orders for repairs
  • These duties are general and will consist of other duties assigned by supervising administrator.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have the ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions.

Must have knowledge of cleaning materials.

Must be able to use and care for cleaning equipment.

Must have sufficient physical strength and ability to perform a variety of routine custodial tasks.

PREFERRED:

A high school graduate from a regionally accredited school, GED equivalent, or completion of an accredited job training program such as: Project SEARCH, Volunteers of America, AL Department of Rehabilitation Services, etc.

SALARY: $24,225.00

**Applicants selected for classified positions must undergo (or have undergone) an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department) and be declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.**
