Description:
The duties include but are not limited to:
Develops and maintains all logistical operations to meet the needs of the Army LOTC / JROTC program.
Assumes formal responsibility and accountability of all Mobile County Public School System LOTC, CTE and government property.
Serves as the sole agent authorized to requisition, receive, issue, account for and dispose of Mobile County Public School System LOTC, CTE and government property.
Establishes and maintains a government credit card account.
Prepares the annual logistics budget for both CTE, LOTC, MPA and OMA funding.
Secures and monitors MCPSS LOTC and US government contracts for maintenance of equipment and clothing.
Prepares and submits recurring and special reports as required to higher headquarters.
Serves as Physical Security Officer for all US Property.
Schedules and conducts semi-annual inventories of all US government and MCPSS property.
Must have comprehensive knowledge of the US Army supply system, procurement, warehousing, and distribution of property.
Demonstrates ability to work independently within established systems and programs.
Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly with logistics personnel.
Must be computer literate.
Must be bondable.
Any other duties assigned by the immediate Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Be a citizen of the United States.
Must have served in one of the six armed services and attained the rank of Non-commissioned Officer (Grade E-6 through E-9), Warrant Officer (Grade WO-1 through WO-5), or Commissioned Officer (Grade O-1 through O-6).
Be retired from the Active Duty/ Reserves with (within the last five years with) at least twenty years of honorable service.
Must possess a minimum of an AA degree from an accredited university, community college or Junior College (Bachelor's degree is preferred).
Have a rank of (Staff Sergeant, Sergeant First Class, Master Sergeant, First Sergeant, Sergeant Major, Command Sergeant Major, Warrant Officer, or Commissioned Officer)
Meet and maintain medical and personal appearance standards as directed by the United States Army and pass a Government background check.
Ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to effectively present information and respond effectively to questions in one-on-one and small group situations to students, parents, and other school staff. Ability to verbally respond to common inquiries from students. Ability to read and interpret documents such as the Alabama Course of Study, safety rules, Individual Education Plans (IEPs), operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, governmental regulations, professional journals, and any other instructional documents deemed necessary to carry out the requirements of the job. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence that conform to prescribed style and format.
Must have strength to lift 50-75lb packages
Preferred: Have a logistics, supply, clerical and property accountability background.
SALARY: Beginning pay: $51,418.00
**Applicants selected for classified positions must undergo (or have undergone) an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department) and be declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.**
