Industrial Painter I Overview

Since Frontier technologies acts as a job shop, Industrial Painters perform various tasks. We are looking for mechanically inclined, problem solvers to join our team. Common projects include:
  • Read and interpret work instructions.
  • Prep material for industrial painting.
  • Grind, sand, hand-paint material.
  • Prepare tools and equipment for each project.
  • Blast material to work instructions according to the SSPC requirements, typically SSPC-10.
  • Verify blast profile after blasting, typically 70-100 microns.
  • Paint material to work instructions, varies greatly depending on customer requirements.
  • Clean work area and equipment after use.
  • Willingness to learn new painting and blasting methods.
  • Inspect customer parts to meet customer expectations and job instructions.
  • Assist service team in projects, including basic mechanical installations, maintenance operations, preventative maintenance, and upgrades on production.
  • Work with Quality Department to ensure specifications and ISO 9001 requirements are met.
  • Moving material throughout the facility via forklifts, pallet jacks and overhead cranes.
  • Packaging finished goods for shipment.
  • Follow Company Policies and Procedures as well as OSHA Guidelines, and use proper PPE
  • Ensure the proper tools and necessary equipment are available and in good condition to perform the required work.
  • Follow work instructions throughout the process, completing assigned tasks for projects following customer, engineering and SDS specifications.
  • Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Ability to work Overtime on a very short notice to meet customer demand.
  • Other job duties as directed by Site Manager or General Manager.

Qualifications
  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Able to read and interpret work instructions
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Perform basic Math skills
  • Able to accurately read/use a tape measure
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to identify and operated basic hand tools and small power tools
  • Passion for doing a job well
  • A "self-motivated" team player
  • Able to work effectively in South Alabama climate conditions
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, crawl, squat, and climb without tiring easily
  • Pass visual test
  • Able to travel to customer sites
  • Must be an insurable driver
  • Must pass a background check and drug test
