Purpose of Position: To perform maintenance on all customers' aircraft and engine accessories following company policies, SOPs and Repair Station Manual

Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation).

  • Acquires information from production boards, reports and any other additional information given by supervisor and/or lead for daily/weekly production goals
  • Locates the accessory work order from the assigned production rack
  • Properly logs into ETS using the correct operation code
  • Reviews the work scope as directed by Sales upon induction
  • Locates the correct manual and tooling equipment to completed evaluation
  • Reviews and interprets the overhaul manual(OHM) to accurately diagnose the defect listed identified by Sales or adhere to the correct engine work scope and/or customer SOP
  • Completes preliminary inspection: Inspect unit for any incoming damages or numerical errors (part/serial numbers, descriptions, status etc.) as well as missing or incorrect parts received. Inform lead of any discrepancies found.
  • Bench test unit as applicable to confirm report from Sales/Customer.
  • Properly disassembles the until according to the overhaul manual; using the correct tooling equipment required and following any standard aviation procedures/practices
  • Visually inspects piece parts for any defects listed by the overhaul manual and/or any aviation standard practice
  • Measures any item indicated by the inspection section using micrometers, calipers and/or any other approved measuring equipment
  • Assigns the correct routing for any rework item by completing the required IW in accordance with the company standards
  • Accurately logs inspection report into company specific software and completes the unit's evaluation
  • Completes any final calibrations/testing required per the overhaul manual with the Accessory Shop Quality Inspector, as required.
  • Ensures the all piece parts, tags and paperwork are properly identified and completed for Final Inspection
  • Properly preserves the unit in accordance with the overhaul manual or standard aviation practices as required.
  • Ensures units are properly mounted on shipping boards if required
  • Ensures caps, plugs, covers, and tags (e.g. WARNING and CAUTION tags) are properly installed before shipping
  • Maintains a clean workstation free from Foreign Object and/or Debris (FOD), ensures tooling is properly stored
  • Maintains a clean/safe workspace free from spills or obstruction which may lead to harm
  • Travels as required
  • Confers with lead/supervisor to recommend changes such as: equipment utilization, production methods and procedures to increase efficiency of department and promote improvement
  • Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner
  • Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy
  • Works overtime as needed
  • Other duties as required
  • Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. Safety-glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.)
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: (these are required to enable job holder to perform the essential functions of the job)
  • Must provide and maintain tool box in accordance with Segers' Tool Control Plan
  • Must be proficient in using a variety of hand tools, special tools, and GSE required to perform assigned maintenance tasks
  • Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with, and among co-workers and supervisors
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision and to take initiative
  • Must be able to use applied knowledge to formulate positive solutions to problem situations
  • Must be able to apply common sense
  • Must be able to effectively read, write and communicate in English
  • Must be proficient in company specific software
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using fractions and decimals; compute percentages, ratios, rates and interpret graphs
  • Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to properly wear all applicable PPE
  • Must have knowledge of precision measuring tools/equipment (dimensional and electrical)
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and more, with assistance occasionally
  • Must regularly be able to reach overhead
  • Must regularly be able to squat, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and stand
  • Must be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally
  • Must be able to see within normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses
  • Must be able to hear running machinery
  • Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively
  • Must have exceptional hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions
Marginal Functions: (Duties that are likely to be assigned to this person, unless he/she proves unable to perform them after receiving training and/or accommodations that the company judges appropriate)

Experience and Education Requirements:

At least 18 years of age or older. A High School Diploma or GED is required. 1 year of professional mechanical aviation experience or completion of Aviation School is required. 3 years of experience performing maintenance on components in an MRO environment is preferred. Must pass a criminal background check and DOT drug screen and comply with all FAA regulations. A&P license or FAA Power Plant Rating preferred. Must strive to continuously develop skills and pursue training opportunities.

Work Conditions:

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Noise is generally loud.
