Responsibilities

Brasfield & Gorrie is looking to add a Senior Project Manager to our Birmingham, Alabama office.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  1. Develop project business plan
  2. Work with field management to generate job specific safety plan for the project.
  3. Serve as the main point of contact for the Engineer and Architect
  4. Work with Pre-Construction and Field Supervision to identify and implement all contract deliverables, quality testing, and reporting requirements
  5. Create staging, logistics, and phasing plan for project
  6. Lead coordination of subcontractors
  7. Set up bonding and/or Subguard, change order log, and cost tracking for the project.
  8. Set up project in E1 and Prolog software
  9. Responsible for project startup, including obtaining permits and licenses and managing jobsite mobilization
  10. Facilitate subcontractor pre-mobilization/startup meetings
  11. Issue and administer subcontracts (payments, insurance, bond, safety, haz-com, etc.) and purchase orders for multiple trades
  12. Assist in developing, planning, and updating of overall project schedule. Attend/direct regular job scheduling meetings
  13. Lead responsibility for project quality control plan implementation and compliance.
  14. Conduct bi-weekly safety surveys with project superintendent
  15. Prioritize, review and expedite submittals
  16. Expedite material deliveries according to project schedule requirements
  17. Understand quantity updating and work with Superintendents to maintain accurate labor forecasts
  18. Develop and administer subcontractor and purchase order change orders
  19. Review projections, labor reports, safety documents, and schedules on a monthly basis.
  20. Review and approve material/equipment invoices according to project budget
  21. Prepare payment requests and monitor collections
  22. Meet with city and state agencies to review project and inspections
  23. Attend OAC progress meetings and create monthly status reports
  24. Enter and update information in project management software (job status reports, projections, change orders, and RFIs)
  25. Manage and oversee job close-out documentation and procedures (closeout documents, final job report, and final accounting)
  26. Mentor and train assistant project managers and co-op/intern students

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

  1. Bachelor degree in construction, engineering, or related field
  2. Minimum of 5 years of construction experience
  3. Able to perform Assistant Project Manager duties proficiently
  4. Experience managing all aspects of construction projects including architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical
  5. Working knowledge of Prolog and other construction software
  6. Basic understanding of financial accounting systems
  7. Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills
  8. Technical writing skills
  9. Conflict resolution skills
  10. Superior organizational skills
  11. Ability to multitask
