The Role

The firm is seeking a Manager of Property Accounting to lead a growing accounting team. This role will provide oversight, guidance, and strategic direction to a group of property accountants while ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant reporting. Its a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings strong real estate accounting expertise.

What Youll Do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of property accountants
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual property-level financial reporting
• Review and analyze financial statements, variances, and supporting schedules
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and client reporting needs
• Collaborate with property management, leasing, and asset management teams to deliver financial insights that drive decisions
• Identify and implement process improvements for greater accuracy and efficiency
• Serve as a key contact for both internal teams and external auditors

What Were Looking For

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Prior experience in real estate or property management accounting strongly preferred
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting best practices
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with Yardi or similar property/accounting software is an advantage

Additional Information

Base pay range: $70,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

Other compensation types: Annual Bonus

Location: Birmingham, AL
