Description:

Position Information

Responsible judicial work in issuing and recording arrest warrants, complaints, and affidavits, granting bail, and receiving guilty pleas on minor misdemeanor cases as mandated by applicable law.

Jurisdiction: Yearly Salary: City of Chickasaw $26,616 - $41,280

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Graduation from a standard senior high school, or the successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test.
  • Preferable completion of a paralegal program.
  • Minimum of three years' responsible court clerical or criminal justice administration experience; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.

Special Requirements

  • Must become certified as a Magistrate/Court Clerk by the Alabama Administrative Office of the Courts within two years of employment as a Magistrate I and attend annual maintenance courses to maintain certification.
