DEPARTMENT: Donated Goods SUPERVISED BY: Director/Store Manager

SUPERVISES: n/a STATUS: Non-Exempt/Temporary

Mission Contribution: Providing funding for our mission services operation.

Function: Processes donated goods as instructed by supervisor in a warehouse work environment.

Essential Functions:

  1. Ensures World Class donor and customer service.
  2. Processes donated/used goods according to supervisor's instructions.
  3. Hangs and sorts clothing and other items as instructed.
  4. Keep processing area, aisles and shelves clean, orderly, and clear of hazards.
  5. Ensures a clean and empty work station at the end of each shift
  6. Discards broken or unusable items as instructed by supervisor.
  7. Maintains adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  8. Other duties as assigned.
Skills, knowledge and abilities: (these are required to enable job holder to perform the essential functions of the job).
  1. Must be able to interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.
  2. Must be able to market Goodwill and explain the mission to the general public.
  3. Must be able to take initiative and work well with little supervision.
  4. Ability to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
  5. Must be able to report to work on time as scheduled.
  6. Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisor and co-workers.
  7. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to engage in frequent bending, stretching, stooping, and prolonged standing, walking and twisting.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. frequently and 75 lbs. with assistance occasionally.
  • Ability to push equipment on wheels weighing 50 lbs. to 150 lbs.
  • Ability to use fingers, hands and wrists, repetitively, while hanging and sorting clothes and merchandise.
Working Conditions: Frequent physical exertion; Exposure to soiled and damaged donated goods materials; Exposure to a variety of weather conditions (extreme heat/cold in warehouse environment).

How Positions are Filled: Positions are filled based on the order in which complete applications are received and your availability to work the required shifts. Early submission of a complete application and flexible availability increase your chances of being selected.

Position Details:
  • Duration: Temporary positions for up to 90 days
  • Work Hours: Up to 28 hours per week
  • Shifts will be Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm
