Flex Shift Material Handler

O'Neal Steel has an opening for a Flex Shift Material Handler at our Mobile, AL facility. The Flex Shift Material Handler will complete a structured training program on 1st shift for up to six months, learning all key warehouse roles. Upon completion of training, this position will provide coverage across multiple shifts as needed to support operational requirements. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.

What you will be doing:

• Following all safety guidelines and wearing the required personal protective equipment.
• Operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including, but not limited to, forklift, overhead crane, stacker crane, side loader, yard dog, etc.
• Set up and operate a variety of processing equipment, burning, band saws, plate roll forming and digibender.
• Reading, interpreting, and following work instructions and blueprints.
• Use measuring tools such as tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper, and micrometer.
• Convert fractions to decimals and vice versa, add and subtract fractions and decimals.
• Provide high quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position. Must be able to work 1st shift for training (M-F 6AM-2PM) and then be able to work a flex schedule. Overtime will be required as needed.
