Fitter Class 1
This position is located on-site in our Bayou La Batre, AL shipyard
Our Ship Fitters are an integral piece of our work on a daily basis. Some of your daily functions will include:
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints
- Minimal welding; must be able to tack weld
- Must be proficient in layout and cutting of steels and aluminum using necessary tools
- Read a tape measure and other measuring devices.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and fairness of materials to be fitted.
- Operate equipment safely and comply with all safety standards
- Must be able to recognize fit up issues and relay to supervisor
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience as a Ship Fitter
- Fundamental knowledge in a marine of manufacturing industry
- Excellent communication, math and problem-solving skills
- Must possess the basic tools required to perform shipfitters duties.
