Position Overview: This is a Full-Time position with a 3:00pm-11:00pm shift. Rotating days and weekends.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.

Education Requirements

• Validation of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two yrs. of college/certification in Central Sterile preferred.
• Five years of experience in hospital Central sterile preferred.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must have amazing customer service
• Must be great team member
• Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments according to the standard AAMI processing guidelines
• Cleans/decontaminates surgical instruments
• Identifies and assembles multiple types of surgical instruments and instrument sets
• Receives and process contaminated equipment, trays, instruments and carts from appropriate area
• Inspects all instruments for cleanliness and condition, removing defective instruments.
• Operates sterilizers, washers and other processing equipment in accordance with department policy
• Maintaining accurate and detailed sterilization records
• Demonstrates knowledge of medical and product terminology having a complete knowledge of sterilization methods, requirements and responsibilities
• Has knowledge of and observes all infection control policy and procedures at all times
